A RIDE ACROSS THE ROOF OF THE WORLD
This itinerary is just an example to serve as inspiration, every trip can be adapted to suit your group, your interests and how far off the beaten track you want to go.
Kyrgyzstan is made for those who love to ride good horses on high mountain trails through magnificent scenery. We follow an experienced guide for 5 days, riding through alpine pastures, walnut forests and alongside aquamarine lakes. We stay in dedicated camps en route, with the camp moved for us to enjoy at the end of the each day.
To reward our efforts in the saddle, we end the trip with two nights relaxing in a yurt by an idyllic lake.
Day 1 - 2
Arrival in Bishkek
Arrive in the capital of Bishkek and settle in, exploring the historical sights and meeting our guide to be briefed on the ride.
Day 3 - 8
Riding up into the Tien Shan
5 days riding sturdy Kyrgyz ponies, escorted by our guide. We will meet Kyrgyz shepherds grazing their livestock in the summer camps on the high pastures. Swim in turquoise lakes and watch Golden Eagles flying high over the passes.
Day 9 - 11
Relaxing in a yurt by a mountain lake
Two nights in a wonderful yurt, set beside a gorgeous mountain lake, with views out to the peaks. Reading, swimming and learning about the local culture.
Day 11 - 12
Back to Bishkek and home
A drive through the hills and down to Bishkek, where we enjoy some time in the famous Osh handicraft bazaar, sample the local food and set sail for home.
